Micro-needling with PRP
Why consider micro-needling with PRP at Pure Elements Medispa?
As more people look for ways to enhance their looks in more youthful ways, they are finding microneedling with PRP to be a helpful option that involves your own body’s healing capacity. micro-needling with PRP is considered to be a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that will help correct age spots, stretch marks, wrinkles, and fine lines. In most cases, nano-needling is employed to dispense medications.
We use Dermapen ®, a device for fractional mesotherapy treatment that renews the skin inside and outside.

What is microneedling with PRP?
Two procedures, namely microneedling and PRP, are combined to create a facial and hair rejuvenation treatment plan that can create a new appearance leading to a more youthful look and feel.
What does microneedling actually do?
Nano-needling – Nano-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, involves a small, handheld device with tiny micro-needles. It passes over the skin, creating tiny channels, or micro-wounds, on the skin. The micro-wounds trigger the production of new collagen and elastin, including new capillaries to improve blood supply. The creation of these micro-wounds can also allow topical products to penetrate the skin deeper than they normally would. The skin’s ability to utilize the nutrients in the products increases up to 3,000%.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) – Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is obtained from an individual’s own blood. After a single blood sample is taken, the blood sample is spun in a centrifuge for 15 minutes to separate platelets from the blood. The PRP can be injected into the skin or inserted via microneedling.
PRP is full of growth factors that can help in the repair of tissue. FGF and PDGF, both growth factors found in platelets, promote cell growth, tissue repair, and the production of new collagen. PRP also contains stem cells, which can induce collagen production.
Growth factors found in PRP:
– FGF (fibroblast growth factor): tissue repair, cell growth, collagen production
– PDGF (platelet derived growth factor): cell growth, new generation and repair of blood vessels, collagen production
– VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor): growth and new generation of vascular endothelial cells
– TGF-B (transforming growth factor betal): growth of epithelial cells, endothelial cells, promotion of wound healing
– KGF (keratinocyte growth factor): growth and new generation of keratinocytes
– EGF (epidermal growth factor): promotion of epithelial cell growth, angiogenesis, promotion of wound healing
What can I expect from the procedure?
Since this treatment is essentially the combination of two trending facial rejuvenation treatments, we do them together in one session. During the microneedling portion of the treatment, the NanoStamp 360™ will be gently passed over the skin to create the tiny channels on the skin. This will allow the body’s natural response for wound healing to take place, which will produce collagen and elastin. Depending on the size of the area, this can take only 30 minutes.
The second part of the treatment will be the application of the PRP. It will be applied directly to the channels created during the microneedling process stimulating the natural healing process and creation of collagen while offering immediate results of a more hydrated, plumped and glowing skin! This process can also take about 30 minutes, meaning that on average one treatment of microneedling with PRP can take about 60 minutes.
